About LPL

Overview

LPL Systems, Inc. was founded in 1991 to conceive and develop groundbreaking solutions in the design and manufacture of laser based machine tool systems for the fabrication of precision components and cutting-edge medical devices.  

 

LPL has since achieved global recognition as being the technological leader in hypo-tube medical device fabrication.

 

LPL was the first company to introduce an industrialized laser cutting system for stents.   

 

We have been industry leaders in continually expanding the performance capabilities our premier laser micro-manufacturing systems.

Milestones

  • Developed an excimer micro-machining system for the manufacture of space-borne photo detector arrays in 1991.

  • Introduced the first industrialized laser cutting process for stents in 1993, and shipped multiple units through 1994.

  • Engineered and constructed 3-wavelength UV/IR laser system for an academic R&D lab in 1994.

  • Collaborated with over 45 companies, inventors and physicians in the design, analysis, and optimization of various interventional devices, including 33 stents.

  • More than 19 Endovascular devices have originated and been engineered in-house since 1996.

  • Developed a radioactive seed welding system for Brachytherapy applications in 1999.

  • Sold and installed a total of 172 Laser Stent Cutters as of Jan, 2007.
